Just a quick recap of what was possibly one of the best Superdrag shows I have ever attended.....and I have been to quite a few! The opening band, The Tammy's, rocked and really warmed up the crowd for a kick ass Superdrag performance. You could tell that the guys were really into it and transferred their energy to the crowd. Excellent show and it was great to hear the new songs mixed with the old. It was my girlfriend's first Superdrag show and she can't stop talking about it. Just like the D.C. show, there was another show following (fucking R5 guys fucked that up) so they played an abbreviated set. John made a funny comment about it being like Thunderdome...two bands enter, one band leaves.

Greetings, I've never posted here before but I figured I'd throw up the set list from last night's D.C. show (to the best of my recollection) since no one else has. The show itself was excellent--the classics were the classics and the new material sounded particularly strong. My only complaint is that there was a second show booked after Superdrag, so they played what seemed like an abbreviated set. But still, all in all it was a great show.

If you're me, would you go to the April 10 Brooklyn show to see Superdrag, if it meant waking up the following morning to drive to Maine at around 5 a.m. for a friend's wedding? It's a 7 hour drive. The ceremony starts at 2 p.m. I'm not in the wedding, just a guest.

I'm bummed I can't see the band on the east coast, so I think this would be the only possible way...

I'll never cease to be amazed at how many shows some bands play during the course of a single year's SXSW. It's absolutely energizing to be able to see your favorite bands several times in a week, and even moreso to catch one three times on the same day. From the bottom of the hill stage at Guero's to After the Jump's backyard house party in east Austin to swanky/smarmy dance-club-turned-venue-for-the-night of Pangaea, Superdrag put on some killer sets and played like...
