Sorry! But its true. there is nothing on this album that I couldn't find on a really bad pop punk record. Where is the John Davis I knew and loved?
Where are the beatle-esque harmonies, the great lyrics and the immediately-classic chord changes?

Even John Lennon had some turds!

Mastering error on Doctors Are Dead?

Listening to "Changing Tires on the Road to Ruin" today. At 3:39, does anyone else hear a digital clip (sounds a bit like static) in the left channel during the guitar solo? Just trying to figure out if it is my copy, or if it's the entire CD run itself. The one I am listening to is a digital rip of the CD purchased directly from Arena Rock, perhaps I should check my CD too. Still a gorgeous sounding track, regardless!

I ordered "Industry Giants" from Newbury Comics and I am excited for its arrival! It should get here today or tomorrow. From reading listeners' reviews, I didn't want it to spoil my experience; it hasn't. I'm so happy Brandon and Tom contributed tracks. I heard part of "Ready To Go" but having a dial-up stoneage internet connection, it has prevented me from having the full experience.

God, I wish I could see Superdrag perform in...

In my opinion.. Superdrag has consistently had amazing opening tracks on their albums. And "Slow to Anger" is no exception. At first listen, it strikes you as out of place for a Superdrag opener. But, that is only by sonic comparison. It is a truly great, unique song that sets the tone for what ends up being a highly energetic album, only slowing down occasionaly to deliver the more sultry sounds of Superdrag.

I am truly proud to be a fan, and I hope to get another...

Just got the disc today. I'm thrilled to say that these songs stand by the best of any prior Superdrag releases. You done us all proud, boys.

My favorite tracks are "Deathblow to Your Pride" and "Ready to Go." "Deathblow..." is still chilling my spine when I listen to it. I think this is one of the most incredible and heartwrenching songs John has ever written.

"Ready to Go" reminds me of early Teenage Fanclub. I...

what is it?

while I'm new and not too familiar with all their stuff (I haven't heard the debut album yet...but that will be fixed soon enough!)...I'm thinking that most people who post here will say Head Trip In Every Key.
and so far, I have to agree... this album is one of those once in a lifetime records that can't just be re-recorded. It sounds as though it really captures the spirit of the band.

I'm going through John / Superdrag's catalog almost completely backwards...so I thought I might share with ya'll my initial reactions.

I only had John's s/t debut prior to getting a large package in the mail a few days ago.

For the sake of context, let me say that I loved the self-titled debut. The ballads were stellar, overloaded with great beatles/beach boy melody. All 12 tracks are quality...in songwriting, arrangements, and performance. I quickly became...

I ordered a bunch of stuff and I got it all in the mail today(!) but I'm missing one CD (Regretfully Yours).

Hey...I'm a newbie to Superdrag.
My wife bought me the JD solo debut when it came out, because she liked the beach boy-esque vocals and thought we would both agree on it.
I happened by John's myspace page last week and heard bits of his new solo record...and I never knew he could rock so hard (I knew a little bit about John's history with Superdrag, but never went as far as to check it out until now).

Long story short, I went a bits nuts on this website...
