I have a Gibson Les Paul Studio-Lite thats a DC. it was my first high-end guitar and my Dad bought it for me on my 18th birthday. its super lite (semi hallow body) nice taperd neck, ass kickin' '57 reissues too. on features, its real stripped down though. there is only 1 volume and 1 tone, so that cuts down on tone options of a standard LP. visually its beautiful though. it has a real simple yet classy look. no fancy binding, and only 'dot' inlays. the archtop really makes it look like a peice of art. However, its not all peaches and cream at first.... theres the infamous wrap-around bridge. that thing haunted me for years until i learned control in my playing. before that guitar, my main axe was a strat, so i actually had to learn that playing aggresively cant really knock things out of tune. i also learned that with this style of guitar (not so much with any other LP or LP styled gutars) holding chords really really hard makes them sound slightly out of tune. it sounds weird i know, but the more i played this guitar, the more gentle i became.

being my Dad passed away last oct. i wanted to put the guitar away as to preserve it for the rest of my life (im a sentimental guy) so now i only play it every now and then. i ended up purchasing a really really cheap brand new Epiphone Les Paul. both in quality and price for $300. its almost like a "my first Les Paul" for new players. its not the greatest thing ive ever played, but its light, sounds pretty awesome with a good amp, and looks far more expensive than what it is. the best part about it, i keep it on a stand in my room out of it's case, and i dont worry if it gets banged up!
