Hope I'm not off subject. The state of music right now is appalling. Great, tried and true bands like Superdrag and Bad Religion don't have major deals, but crappy, crappy, bad, bad bands like Rear View Mirror (boy there's a Pearl Jam ripoff band, jeez) and Flaw get major label support. Give Superdrag the support that mediocre bands like 3 Doors Down, Saliva, Seether, and Fuel (sorry Brett) get, and you've got a platinum album. My buddy is a record exec at Curb, and he didn't heard Superdrag's latest until I bought it for him about 4 months ago. He swears that it is a better album than Ryan Adam's newest (which is HIS act), and may be one of the best albums of last year. He's mad that I didn't call him when it came out.
