As a Christian myself I'd just like to say I think the idea of Christian vs. secular music is kind of a bogus categorization. You either make good music or you make music that sucks. Beauty shows forth God and ugliness doesn't. There is a massive Christian subculture in America that has decided that they are going to make their crappy music seem better by making these false categories of "christian" and "secular" so they can say their music is "christian" and dupe unsuspecting Christians into buying a load of crapola. That is how I see it... feel free to tell me how stupid I am. John Davis makes good music. That is why I listen to it I dunno about all of you guys.

If John Davis is a Christian (which I have no idea because I can't seem to even read this article that is linked in this thread and I don't know much about him) then of course it is going to influence his music... but I mean... anything you believe is going to influence how you write or for that matter how you do anything. Why would you believe something if you were just going to put it in some small, locked away compartment of your life?
