Great way of explaining it Andy A. Also, when recording an album for a major company, the cost of the studio time and production is put on one big tab. much like a credit card. Then when the album is finished, its up to the artist to make all that money back by touring and selling records. and like you said, they will 'help out' with promotion and such but its really up to the artist.

Maybe one of the reasons why they've held out on Fiona's LP, they have her on a type of punishment. Kinda like how all the promotional work was pulled out from under Superdrag when they found out no song on Headtrip was 'Sucked Out 2'. Then the artist HAS to buy out from their contract just to break even with the cost of the record.

With all these problems, it makes me wonder why anyone would want to sign to a major label!! Its all about the money.

BTW those songs were awesome! go Fiona!
