The 'big' musical news this weekend in Boston was that 'The Boss' was playing Fenway Park and those ducats were the hardest in the city to attain. Right down the street, on a lesser deified scale, the best band in America played a scorcher of a set at the Paradise. The late, lamented Superdrag, performed their probable last gig ever and didn't disappoint. Mixing songs from their four albums (showing my age with that crack) and earlier EP's, the band connected on every level. It was a bittersweet show for me as I had been elated earlier in the day to find out they were playing in the area only to later learn that this would be their curtain call. Way down here without you indeed.
